Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew growing up in Mexico in a family who was devoted to music. She grew up listening mostly to traditional music, boleros from the past, as well as traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana is a fan of tangos, as well as opera and dramatic performances. Following her singing lessons with mom, she started more serious singing lessons at the age of 16 under the tutelage by renowned Mexican tenor FlavioBecerra. In Guadalajara she studied at the School of Music of University of Guadalajara and then in Toluca at The School of Sacred Music. She sang in Guadalajara, Mexico City and other cities as a young musician and student. Following her move in America, United States, she performed as a member of the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. Then in 2002 she moved to Southern California. She sings with Ensemble XXI Redlands, and sings Latin American traditional music solo in a variety of private occasions. The love she has for performing, music, as well as the arts keeps her involved in local activities for both an artist as well as a educator. Ana is also a former member of the Community Chorus of Redlands. The Inland Master Chorale. and the Performance Loft. Ana is hoping that, by sharing her knowledge her love of Latin American traditional songs, to bring about a desire, specifically in the younger generations in keeping the music vibrant.
