Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is a famous Indian actress known for her roles in the movies Beta Saajan as well as Hum Aapke Haiin Koun..! She first began her career as a performer in the late 1980s. The actress became popular for the movie Tezaab with an established actor Anil Kooor. Her next appearance on screen was in Dil with Aamir. As a child she began studying at a very early age. While still a teenager she tried her hand at acting, but the majority of those early films were unsuccessful. Her fame grew and she became one of India's leading film actors. The actress took a hiatus from acting following her marriage before returning to the industry of entertainment. Recently, she had an important part in the movie Gulaab Gang which was about the challenges faced by women living in India. Dixit has been nominated 15 times to win Filmfare Awards. She won eight of the awards. Padma Shri - the fourth most prestigious civilian award of India awarded to Dixit. Her fame is based on her work in the field of social service as well.
